The Amazon Selling Partner API (SP-API) enables developers to build applications that help selling partners programmatically exchange data on listings, orders, payments, reports, and more.

These release notes highlight the latest features, API updates, and documentation improvements. SP-API continues to expand capabilities for sellers and vendors to help drive efficiency and growth.

API Changes

Fulfillment Inbound API v2024-03-20

  • New feature: View and select one of the available delivery windows for a shipment to arrive at an Amazon facility

  • New feature: Print labels for individual items

  • Select Partnered Carrier as an option for your less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments

  • Update the name of inbound plans and shipments

  • Update the quantity of units of a SKU after shipment confirmation

  • Add three new mandatory operations: confirmDeliveryWindowOptions, generateDeliveryWindowOptions, and listDeliveryWindowOptions

Deprecation Notices

  • Deprecated SP-API resources are no longer in active development. Calls to deprecated SP-API resources will fail beginning on their removal date. For more information about SP-API deprecation dates, refer to the Deprecations table.

  • The following operations in Fulfillment Inbound API v0 are no longer deprecated:

    • getShipments

    • getShipmentItemsByShipmentId

API Changes

Product Pricing API v2022-05-01

  • Added the lowestPricedOffers and referencePrices attributes to provide the top 20 lowest priced offers and reference prices.

  • The Tutorial: Retrieve a list of featured offers for a batch of up to 20 ASINs in the Use Case Guide uses two new attributes: lowestPricedOffers and referencePrices.

  • Added the Price adjustment automation workflows guide outlining how to leverage the API and Pricing notifications to automate pricing management.

  • Added the Product pricing API and notifications FAQ.

Catalog Items API v2022-04-01

  • Added a new includedData query parameter option classifications which replaces the deprecated MWS GetProductCategoriesForSKU and GetProductCategoriesForASIN operations. Sellers and vendors can use classifications to browse classification trees assigned to an ASIN.

Feeds API v2021-06-30

  • The Order feeds attributes POST_ORDER_FULFILLMENT_DATA and POST_FLAT_FILE_FULFILLMENT_DATA are updated with a new field: ship-from-supply-source-id.

Deprecation Notices

  • Deprecated SP-API resources are no longer in active development. Calls to deprecated SP-API resources will fail beginning on their removal date. Refer to the Deprecations table for dates.

API Changes

Orders API v0

  • Added the CompanyName attribute.

  • Updated the rate limit for getOrder, getOrderAddress, and getOrderBuyerInfo from .0167 to .5 and increased the burst from 20 to 30.

  • Updated the IsBuyerRequestedCancel, IsGift and NumberOfItems object types from boolean/integer to string.

  • Updated getOrders to return AutomatedCarrier and AutomatedShipMethod attributes.

Easy Ship API v2022-03-23

  • Updated the license from Amazon Software License to Apache License 2.0.

  • Added 413 HTTP code to each operation's possible responses.

Report Schema Changes

  • Added lastUpdatedDate field to several Vendor reports.

Vendor Central Marketplace Expansion to Ireland (IE)

  • On April 23rd, 2024, Vendor Central launched support for Ireland (IE) Marketplace. See SP-API Vendor Central URLs, SP-API Endpoints, and Marketplace IDs for details.

Documentation Changes

  • The Orders API v0 Use Case Guide now notes orders more than 2 years old are not returned, with some marketplace exceptions.

Shipping API v2

  • Added AdditionalAddressNotes, NdrAction, NdrRequestData, SubmitNdrFeedbackRequest to the ndrFeedback parameter.

  • Added tutorial for Using the ndrFeedback API to submit Non-Delivery Reports.

  • Added LiquidVolume, IsHazmat, DangerousGoodsDetails attributes to the Item object.

Merchant Fulfillment API v0

  • Updated to include support for the UK Marketplace Asin Page View Metric report. See Regulatory Compliance Report Type Values.

Reports API v2021-06-30

  • Added Request and retrieve a bulk invoice report for Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) orders for India tutorial. Allows downloading GST invoices in batch for delivered MCF orders.

Notifications API v1

  • Updated FEED_PROCESSING_FINISHED and REPORT_PROCESSING_FINISHED to include support for vendors with new accountId property. Applies to all marketplaces.

Fulfillment Outbound v2020-07-01

  • Added PaymentInformation attribute, required for India but optional elsewhere.

  • Added tutorial on creating an MCF order for India.

Documentation Changes

  • Added Python and Javascript SDK client libraries and tutorials.

  • Reformatted Report Type Values pages and consolidated report type attributes.

Product Pricing API v2022-05-01

  • United Kingdom now a valid marketplace.

  • getFeaturedOfferExpectedPriceBatch (FOEP) extended to Amazon.co.uk.

  • ASIN_NOT_ELIGIBLE now a value for resultStatus.

  • New competitiveSummary returns featured buying options summary for ASIN and marketplaceId.

Product Type Definitions API v2020-09-01

  • Updated for 3 new parameters (itemName, locale, searchlocale) and 1 new displayName product type.

Finances API v0

  • Updated ListFinancialEvent and ListFinancialEventGroups to clarify expected responses and scope.

  • Modified ChangeRefundTransactions response from object to array.

Vendor Direct Fulfillment Shipping API v2021-12-28 and v1

  • Updated weight field now mandatory to generate error on shipmentconfirmations so vendors don't wait for transaction status error.

  • New ITEM_SALES_EVENT_CHANGE sent 5 min after each hour with hourly ASIN sales data.
