Per Amazon, Sponsored brand campaigns created before August 2023 will no longer support new advertiser features or measurement metrics. Advertisers, agencies, and tool providers will not have access to reporting data for legacy campaigns in the latest Amazon APIs.
This change was completed in the US marketplace on May 22, 2023, followed by all other supported marketplaces on August 10, 2023.
See Amazon's Notice.
Legacy Sponsored Brands Campaigns
While operational, legacy Sponsored brand campaigns are in “Lights On” mode. This means they are still delivering but do not support new advertiser features or measurement metrics.
As a result of Amazon migrations, legacy Sponsored Brand campaigns will not have data show up in the Amazon Ads (v3) reporting API. Data is not "missing" from the API but reflects that Amazon no longer supports delivering performance data for older campaigns. Amazon's fix for this is to update or "migrate" your old campaigns to make them current.
Status Alert June 21, 2024: Updates to Sponsored Brands version 3 campaigns
Legacy Sponsored Brands version 3 campaigns created before October 2022 recently went missing in the advertising console after being rejected during creative moderation.
These servingStatusDetails
for these campaigns, returns REJECTED_DETAIL
in POST /sb/v4/campaigns/list. These campaigns will show as ARCHIVED
in POST /sb/v4/campaigns/list and the advertising console by August 15th, 2024.
To prevent similar issues with version 3 campaigns, we strongly recommend recreating all version 3 Sponsored Brands campaigns as new version 4 campaigns. You can clone existing campaigns in the advertising console. To learn more about key benefits of using new ad group based campaigns, see our Benefits guide.
Amazon Recommendations For Migration
Amazon recommends migrating these campaigns to ad group campaigns by cloning them using the ad console. If you are unfamiliar with the console interface, Amazon suggests seeking assistance and contacting your Amazon representative.
