This article explains how to quickly set activate Amazon Athena service within your Openbridge account.
IMPORTANT: Before you continue with activating Athena within Openbridge, make sure you have configured your Amazon S3 bucket and IAM policies first. We require your AWS account is configured to allow Openbridge access to S3 and Athena.
Configure Amazon Athena within Openbridge
Log in to your Openbridge account (if you don’t have one, create one for free).
Navigate to Amazon Athena product page and click the “Configure Amazon Athena” button.
On the next page start configuration by entering descriptive Amazon Storage Name as you won’t be able to rename it:
Next, enter your Athena Connection Details which can be found in your AWS console. You will need to provide the Athena Amazon Region and Amazon S3 bucket name:
Provide a name for your Athena Database Name. Openbridge will create this for you to within Athena. NOTE: Athena table, database, and column names allow only underscore (_) special characters and cannot contain any other special characters. See Amazon docs for reference.
Provide your Amazon Athena Access Key ID and Secret Access Key details:
Lastly, review your order, read, and agree to terms of services and click “Connect Storage”!
That’s it! Automated, Zero Administration AWS Athena Data Pipeline is configured!
